CHRNA6 (Q15825) - Overview - Molecular Target Synopsis

CHRNA6, Neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-6
UniProt Q15825

Also Known as ACHA6_HUMAN, CHRNA6

After binding acetylcholine, the AChR responds by an extensive change in conformation that affects all subunits and leads to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. Neuronal AChR seems to be composed of two different types of subunits: alpha and non-alpha (beta). Interacts with LYPD6 (PubMed:27344019).
