PsaD can form complexes with ferredoxin and ferredoxin-oxidoreductase in photosystem I (PS I) reaction center. PS I from Synechocystis PCC 6803 contains seven different polypeptides. The polypeptide corresponding to subunit II from higher plants is missing.
